I am a true believer that when it comes to a home, if you really love something than you should not care if it is trendy or not. Just do it because you love it, but do it with knowledge, thought and quality. If it is well done and makes you happy, then you will feel good in your home. That is what its all about isn't it!? Everything "new" is basically a different take on something that has been done before anyway.
I love learning about new trends, new products, new companies, and research art and architecture history. It is something that is also very important for my growth in what I do, interior design and interior architecture. People come to me because I not only have a well refined eye, but also knowledge and access to many resources that they don't even know even exist. Having said that, I also have my own aesthetic and based on that, I personally gravitate to some things and am totally "Over" some of them at the moment as well. I think that can be applied to anything: fashion, cooking, traveling, reading etc.
Recently I was asked to contribute to a fun article for Good Housekeeping magazine titled " 15 Kitchen Trends Designers Never Want to see again " I wonder if you know what trends I am over at the moment :) Go on over to the Good Housekeeping website to read it. Click on the link below:
